Everything's So Hazy
Well, I guess it wouldn't be summer in Northern Nevada without wildfire smoke coming in from the west and settling in the great basin.
This was the first real haze I believe I'd experienced this year, as it came rolling in at the end of June. We've got more hanging around these days, coming up from Monterey county, and I honestly can't wait for it to go away and leave us with clean air to breathe whilst enjoying some fun in the sun.
This is my first real experiment with using luminosity masking in PS CC, where a range of colors are selected and "painted" in from multiple exposures, thereby properly exposing each area of the image. It's a pretty confusing workflow, but a very powerful skill to have in one's editing tool belt, and one I'll definitely be exploring further in future works.
